The Story ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are a 10 year boy and you want to be a Pokemon Master but you have a rival named Gary who just until a few months ago was your best friend. Now you start your Pokemon journey by picking one of Professor Oak's(your grandfather)pokemon. You may pick one of the following pokemon to help you start your journey to become a Pokemon Master!! Charmander Squirtle Bulbasaur Home Abilities After so many levels, a Pokemon gains abilities as well as evolving. At level 8, Squirtle learns Bubble. Bubble is a Water-based attack that water Pokemon can use. As a Pokemon grows stronger and gains more experience points, they gain more and more abilities. But there is a limit to these abilities that Pokemon can get. Pokemon can only have four abilities at a time. Throughout Squirtle's evolutions, he will be able to learn Tackle, Tail Whip, Bubble, Water Gun, Bite, Withdraw, Skull Bash, and Hydro Pump. He is able to learn all of these abilities, but only four of the eight can be kept. Do you get it now? Since you only can have a choice of four abilities, you would want to get the best four out of what the Pokemon can learn. I, for instance, like to choose all of the offensive abilities that a Pokemon can learn. However, I do also have a few Pokemon that have Sleep Powder and Paralyzing abilities that help out a lot during a Pokemon battle. Some people like to prefer more status effecting abilities more than damage dealing abilities. Or, some people keep them equal to each other. What ever the case may be, it is all on your fighting strategy and your opinion on weather you want physical abilities, status abilities, or a little of both. Some abilities can only be learned through leveling up a Pokemon, while others can be learned through TMs and HMs. That's all I can really say about Abilities and what-not. Home This is how it works: If Pikachu (electric) was attacking Charmander (fire), Pikachu would have a good chance of winning. The one attacking is on the left and the one defending is on top. This chart is used to determine the strengths and weaknesses of each Pokemon by their type. For example, Grass Pokemon can whoop on Water Pokemon, but..... they stand a slight chance of winning when battling a Fire Pokemon. The Fire Pokemon them seems strong, but the Water Pokemon comes in and kicks its butt... Ya get it??? As you can see here, Caterpie is gettin the crap beat out of him by Pidgeotto because Bird Pokemon have an advantage over Bug Pokemon, as this picture and the chart shows... | |||||||||||||||||||||||
